Greetings from Asunción, Paraguay, where the IV Americas Social Forum kicks off today with a march and opening ceremony that includes remarks by Nobel Laureate Rigoberta Menchú and many other leaders of social movements and civil society from across the region.
Roughly 10,000 people representing more than 500 organizations are expected to participate this year. We’re here to meet with groups working on development-induced displacement throughout the Americas and also to conduct a workshop on the strategic use of video in advocacy campaigns on this theme.
More updates soon, including video + posts — for now, follow the ASF’s blog and my Twitter feed for fresh tidbits here and there (internet permitting)…
Saludos solidarios!
