Attention young filmmakers, the deadline is fast approaching to enter the PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival (submissions are due June 27, 2014)! Now in its 6th year, PLURAL+ is a festival featuring videos produced by youth on migration and social inclusion. As the next generation of advocates for social change, the voices of youth challenge us to think bigger and continue to fight for a better world.
WITNESS is pleased to announce that this year we will be partnering with PLURAL + to present two cash prizes to our favorite entrees from this year’s submissions. The prizes are made possible by generous donors to WITNESS who wish to remain anonymous. In addition, the winning videos will be featured on our social media platforms.
The festival is hosted by the United Nations Alliance of Civilization (UNAOC), The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and a network of over 50 partner organizations from all over the world. Last year, films were submitted from 254 countries and 26 videos received awards and were chosen to be screened at the PLURAL+ Award Ceremony held at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. We are very excited to take part in this year’s festival and we encourage all youth from all over the world to submit a video. Eligibility and submission guidelines are below (and in this video):
- Open to youth ages 25 or younger
- Videos must be 5 mins or less in length
- Deadline for submission: June 27th, 2014
- Video must deal with themes of migration, diversity and social inclusion.
