Indigenous Rights Protected After Indian Mine Stopped
Following years of controversy and activism, the Government of India on Tuesday rejected the proposed bauxite mining project in the eastern state of Orissa determining that the mine violates environmental and forestry laws and would lead to further abuses against the indigenous communities in the area.

WITNESS training materials and videos in Burmese
Over the past few years, literally hundreds of thousands have been moved to action by the videos created by our former partners at Burma Issues. Both the trailer and full version of just one video, Shoot on Sight, have been seen 1 million times on YouTube and the Hub alone - not to mention the dozens of times it has been screened before decision-makers and supporters.

Landmark Decision – Prop 8 Ruling
Thursday August 5th, 2010, was a victory day for the LGBT community. California's Prop 8 ruling was deemed unconstitutional in a landmark decision by Justice Vaughn R. Walker of the California Federal Court. The Rachel Maddow Show sums it up very well on MSNBC.

Srebrenica: A Forensic Reconstruction Now on Exhibit at Open Society Archive
In July 1995, over 8,000 Muslim men and boys were systematically slaughtered on grounds of ethnicity in and around Srebrenica in roughly 72 hours by units of the Bosnian Serb Army.
