The weekly digest has been on an unintentional hiatus… I have been helping out on some exciting projects here including our forthcoming Video Advocacy Online Toolkit and planning some outreach for our soon-to-be published report on current challenges and opportunities for human rights video.
This digest covers a slightly wider range than the usual week before publication. This weekly series features links to videos that we are sharing or are brought to our attention via social media, especially Twitter. You can notify us of examples by using the hashtag #video4change.
- (Warning: blatant self-promotion for a WITNESS activity:) Our partners at The Guardian Project urged their followers to vote for a panel at next year’s SXSW: “Please vote up our panel with @witnessorg at #SXSW: Recognize This! Ethics of Mobile Face Tagging bit.ly/ofR0yG“
- Sam shared social media for non-profits maven Beth Kanter‘s thoughts on: “What Makes an Online Video Worth Sharing?” elq.to/otn0QP via @Eloqua #video4change“
- And we watched Amnesty USA‘s newest video series advocating for the end of the death penalty by highlighting the U.S.-based case of Troy Davis. They’re asking supporters to watch the four part series “A Life in Balance” and share it at house parties.
