Mahmoud Elmasry Mahmoud is a bilingual, passionate, and determined human rights activist with over 10 years of experience at the forefront of personal rights, refugees’ rights, LGBTQ+ Rights, and social-economic rights activism in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). He cooperated with WITNESS for years in different projects before he joined the organization as the Programmatic Comms Coordinator, MENA in January 2022. Before joining WITNESS, he worked to help disadvantaged individuals and communities find empowerment through working with natural leaders as well as regional and international organizations. Mahmoud holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, as well as a post-graduate diploma in Non-Governmental Organizations Management from Cairo University's School of Economic and Political Sciences. He also earned a Master's degree in International Relations from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2021. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD at the University of Leeds, further expanding his expertise in his field of study.
